I was recently given the honor of accepting the ACG NJ 2018 Corporate Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of Konica Minolta. I really couldn’t be more enthusiastic about this recognition because it truly reflects the drive we feel internally with our push towards innovation, corporate growth, and excellence within our own organizational best practices.

Only 12 years ago, 2 very old (150 years old) companies, Konica and Minolta, came together to unify these diverse companies as one, with one mission and one deliverable. 10 years ago, I became the CEO for the combined company and have had the privilege of guiding this organization through its transformation in the technology industry, ensuring an empowered and inspired company along the way.

    A forward thinking company

One of the things I believe that makes Konica Minolta a fantastic organization is that we never rest on our laurels. Instead we are continuously striving to improve ourselves, our technology, and the value we drive to our customers.

Over the last few years in particular, we have seen that technology is changing what we understand the ‘workplace’ to be. Technology can be deployed anywhere, giving workers unprecedented digital access and capabilities. This has really shaped the mantra and culture at Konica Minolta – “Work is not where you are. It is what you get done.” People now use technology to work from wherever they are, and their workplace parameters are defined only by wherever they decide to log in. At Konica Minolta, we are on a mission to anticipate this change and provide business solutions that support and enable this digital transformation. This has been the driving force behind the growth of our corporation and the principal factor for which we have just been recognized.

Supporting this vision, within the past six years or so, we’ve been heavily investing in business innovations around the world to grow this business. One example is All Covered, a managed IT service that supports customers across the entire IT spectrum. Their services include optimizing resources, maintaining infrastructure, and facilitating the migration to the Cloud. Another is Enterprise Content Management, which can integrate with line-of-business systems in numerous fields of practice including; finance, healthcare, admissions, accounts payable, contract management and more. Additionally, All Covered offers completely customized ECM solutions catered to the needs of each individual business which further helps streamline operations. I am proud to say that we have built superior security features compliant with healthcare and educational legal regulations. These are the tools that make digital work plausible.

    Forward Thinking Teams

In addition to having leading edge products and solutions, none of what we do would be possible without the many amazing people at Konica Minolta. It is the Konica Minolta community that is helping to propel our organization’s transformation, and making our continual growth possible.

We strive for being a casual, creative and collaborative environment. We applaud diversity and know that innovation and creativity is inspired from people of all backgrounds. Our teams are customer-centric and are always finding ways to support individual needs. We strongly encourage thought-leadership and positive relationship building. We love our passionate, technology-focused and forward-thinking individuals, and reward those who bring out their best. Lastly, another point of pride and one that is engrained in our culture, is sharing with others to build a better tomorrow. As we grow, we also give back to the communities and causes around us, often reaching and exceeding donations totaling $10M annually. To name by a few charities, we support the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Susan Komen, United Way, Children’s Cancer Institute and the National Kidney Foundation.

I’d like to express my gratitude to ACG NJ for the award they’ve bestowed upon myself and all of us at Konica Minolta. It was a true honor to be amongst the CEOs of some of the most successful companies in New Jersey. We will continue to demonstrate our strengths in this digital transformation and grow our business by helping meet the needs of our customers every step of the way. Remember- the workplace of the future is not where you are, it’s what you get done.
